Production
Pilale Bay Farms produces a diverse mix of food crops and cut flowers grown within a layered agroforestry system. Established plantings already provide seasonal harvests, with new areas being developed to increase overall production for the Maui community. Over 350 established plantings are currently producing across the farm, with additional areas coming into production each year.
Bananas are grown across multiple plantings and harvested as each bunch reaches maturity, providing a reliable seasonal staple.
Kalo is grown for both food and planting stock, with new māla areas established as additional ground is prepared.
Papaya provides early-producing fruit and helps bring newly developed areas into active production.
Avocado, citrus, coconut, guava, starfruit, and other fruit trees contribute to a diverse harvest throughout the year.
Cut flowers and decorative foliage are grown for arrangements, events, and local use. Plantings are being expanded and organized into dedicated harvest areas to increase volume and support future supply as the farm develops.
Seasonal vegetables and short-cycle plantings increase production flexibility while building soil and utilizing open areas during development.
